Doris was a homemaker, enjoyed raising her children and babysitting. She loved traveling to Branson, MO, Canada, Niagara Falls, and spending time outdoors on camping and fishing trips. She was a true sun worshiper and could always be found lounging in the pool. In her spare time, she enjoyed puzzles and cruising in their 1922 Oakland. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Vernon. Together they would have celebrated 73 years of marriage on September 2nd. She is also survived by sons, Vernon, Jr. (wife Joann) of Dillsburg, Steve (wife Cathy) and Michael (wife Jean) both of Carlisle; daughter, Connie Weibley (husband Roger) of Carlisle; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Ronald.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013 with Pastor Richard L. Noggle officiating. There will be a viewing from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Interment will follow the services in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
