Final rites for John R. Criswell, were held at the Tucker Funeral Home in English, Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. L. R. Wilkes officiated. Interment was in the Sloan Cemetery at English, where military rites were conducted by members of Everett Mason Post, 6160, V. F. W.
Mr. Criswell died at his home in English, on Sunday February 3, 1957, at 2:30 p.m., after being in declining health for some time.
He was a Spanish-American War veteran and a member of the English Christian Church.
Survivors included his wife, the former Ida Clare Smith; a son, William, cashier of the Hardinsburg State Bank; a daughter, Mrs. Walter J. (Christine) Sigler, and three grandsons, of South Bend.
