Jim was born on October 28, 1932 to John and Ada (Carson) Calvert in Bailey County, Texas. He was united in marriage to Betty Newton on September 12, 1952 in Alpine, Texas. Jim was a retired rancher. He served his country in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his son, Joe Calvert.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are daughter, Laurie Sellers and husband Mark of Lometa; his grandchildren, Jill, Julie Sellers, and Rowdy Calvert and wife Jennifer; 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
