THE OBITUARY OF MRS. L. PETERSON

Cecilia Olson was born April 16th, 1868, in Bleking, Sweden. When she was 8 years old her mother passed to the Great Beyond. So she left her home in early girlhood days to make her own way; she was conformed in the year 1889. In the year 1893 she, with her younger brother, Swan Olson, said goodbye to near and dear ones at home and sailed for America, coming to Burdick, Kansas, to her sister's home, on the 2th day of June, 1893. On the 27 of August, 1894, she was united in marriage to Lars Peterson of Burdick, Kansas. To this union six children were born, of whom four have gone before her. She united with the M. E. church in 1894, at Burdick, Kansas. In 1912 the family moved to Allen county, on a farm near Humbolt, Kansas. In 1917 they moved to Neosho county where she spent the remainder of her life on earth. On the 15th of January, 1931, she came to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alex Bloom, where she became ill and remained until death. Her husband preceeded her in death on Dec. 21, 1927, when he went to join his children that had gone before.
Mrs. Peterson left this world March 22, 1931, age 62 years, 11 months, 6 days. She leaves to mourn her death, one daughter, Mrs. Axel Bloom, one son, Oscar Peterson, three grandchildren. George, Hannah and Herbert of Savonburg, Kansas, two brother Oluf and Swan Olson of Smolan, Kansas, one sister who preceeded her in 1930, and many other relatives and a host of friends.
Mother, thou has left us, but we know that thou art home with Jesus.
Though the voice we heard is stilled; it no more, but thank God, that she obeyed his will; to abide with him forevermore.
Life's race well run,
Life's work well done,
Life's crown well won,
Now comes rest.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o"clock at Sweedish Free Mission church, conducted by Rev. L. J. McDermed of the Christian churchh, assisted by Rev. Carl A. B. Swanson of the Lutheran church. A quartette from Christian church sang several selections, they were Mr. Ira J. Barsby, Mr. O. D. Courtney, Mrs. C.M. Barsby and Miss Ollideen Stierwalt.
