Russell L. Adkins
Russell L. Adkins, 86, of Bloomington, passed away August 20th at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Russell had worked in sales for many years. He served in the United States Army during WWII.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Phyllis (Wood) Adkins; five children, two boys and three girls; 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Orville J. Adkins and Elva (Mc Cutcheon) Adkins, 3 brothers Stanley Adkins, Orville J. Adkins and James M. Adkins, 3 sisters Kathryn Adkins, Evelyn Adkins and Mildred Livingston, 2 grandchildren Adam R. Adkins and Kyle O'Brien, and a son-in-law Robert Kelley.
Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home with Rick Owensby officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens with military rites conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. Family will receive friends from 4-8pm Friday at the funeral home.
