Joseph N Burris Sr, 91, Overland Park, died June 1, 1993, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Services will be at 11 am Saturday at the Maple Hill Chapel; burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Friday at the chapel. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the Armourdale Baptist Church.
Mr Burris was born in Tuscumbia, Missouri, and lived in this area most of his life. He was a security guard for the Colgate-Palmolive Company for thiry-five years, retiring in 1966. He was a member of the church.
Survivors include his wife, Mae A Burris of the home; three sons, Charles Burris , Shawnee, Joseph Burris , Kansas City, Kansas, and the Reverend Thomas S Burris , Elmhurst, Illinois; three daughters, Josephine Roberts, Omaha, Nebraska, Geraldine Cain, Raytown, and Barbara Wiyninger, Shawnee; a sister, Florence Carr, Kansas City, Kansas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
