Allen D. Brown Jr., age 66, of Bulverde, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Saint David's Medical Center in Austin, Texas. From his birth in Houston, on January 3, 1952, to his death on Tuesday he touched hearts with his smile, stories, faith, strength, and perseverance. He was one of four children born to Allen and Nona Brown. He grew up helping on the rice farm with his siblings and cousins. After graduating from CyFair High School he married his high school sweetheart Debbie Morgan Brown on June 13, 1970. He began farming rice with his family in Katy, Texas and later moved to Red River County with his father and brother where they operated a cattle ranch for forty years. He was an active member and a deacon at Leesville Baptist Church. He enjoyed serving and worshipping at Leesville for over 35 years. He also served on the Detroit School Board for several years. In 2011, Allen and his wife moved to Rosebud, Texas to be closer to their children and enjoy a smaller ranch. Allen joined First Baptist Church in Lott where he enjoyed serving and meeting new friends. In 2013, he suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury which he miraculously survived and worked hard in rehab to speak, eat, and walk again. Prior to the accident, he enjoyed ranching, roping, riding horses, hunting and saltwater fishing in the summer at Port O'Connor with his family. He was a great story teller, enjoyed visiting with his family and friends, telling stories, playing pool, card games and swimming with his grandchildren, watching deer and birds, and riding around in his mule.

Left to remember Allen and his love is his wife of 48 years, Debbie; daughter Kristi Brown Taylor and husband, Scott; daughter Kandice Brown Mitchell and husband, Carl; son Keith Brown and wife Marilee; grandchildren Caroline Mitchell, Garrett Taylor, Claire Mitchell, Hayden Taylor, Audrey Brown, Kole Mitchell and Ava Brown; sister Beverly Brown Killough; sister Zora Brown McBride and husband, Danny; and brother Craig Brown as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
