September 24, 1947 - August 10, 2018 J. B. Croucher, 70, of Berea, died at his residence on Friday, August 10, 2018 following a long illness. He was a life-long resident of Rockcastle County born September 24, 1947, son of the late Robert and Mollie Chasteen Croucher, a retired carpenter, member of Fairview Baptist Church and B. J.’s Coffee Club. J. B. enjoyed many things including, antiques, antique tools, clocks and chewing tobacco. He had a passion for classic vehicles and enjoyed Sunday “Joy Rides” with his family. He was a family man and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, JoAnn Poynter Croucher; 3 children, Amy Davidson (Donnie), Chad Croucher, Kelly Mobley (Aaron); 1 brother, Roy Lee Croucher (Velma); 3 grandchildren, Brittney, Dustin, Weston; 3 great grandchildren, Ryland, Cayson, Zayden; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and church family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 8 siblings, Ed, Bert, Junior, Fred Dee, Willard, Norma Jane, Pauline, Bobby Earl.
Funeral Service 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Fairview Baptist Church with Pastor Vaughn Rasor and Bro. Jerry Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Berea Cemetery. Visitation 6:00 – 9:00 PM Monday at the church. Pallbearers will be: Kevin Poynter, Bob Alexander, Tim Alexander, Mike Alexander, Buddy Croucher, Ronnie Bowling, Eddie Wayne Croucher. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brittney Davidson, Dustin Davidson, Weston Mobley, Brothers-in-Law, Eddie Wilson, Russell Poynter, Virgil Rowlette, Bill Gene Sigmon, Frankie Anderkin, Vester Maples.
