Mary Evelyn Fain was born on April 16, 1933 in Stewart County, Tennessee, the daughter of Alfred Atkins and Bessie (Lehman) Atkins.
She was married to James Lewis Fain (1930-2015), the son of Thomas Jefferson Fain and Martha Rye Christy Fain.
A member of Hopewell Baptist Church and living in Palmyra, Mary was 85 years old when she passed away at home on August 11, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; infant son Raymond Patrick Fain; brothers Talmedge Atkins, Buford Atkins, Bishop Atkins, Archie Atkins, Frank Atkins and Earl Atkins; sisters Ruth Shelby and Christine Pitts and by her granddaughter Tracy Fain Phillips. Survivors included three marries sons, a married daughter, brother, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Services were held at the chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and burial was in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
