Austin Baker, who was burned in a powder explosion in the C. A. Baker store on March 28, died from the effect of the burns he received on Sunday monring, April 12, at three o’clock.

Austin was reared in Mountain Home and had many friends here. On the whole, he was of a very kind-hearted disposition and was always one of the first to tender his service to the suffering and needy. He was an ardent sportsman and will be sadly missed from their ranks in this vicinity. Everything that was possible to be done for him after the accident was done. Kind and loving friends helped the family nurse him during his illness. All the members of the family except one brother were with him at the end and nursed him with loving care. But God saw fit to take him away.

The funeral services were held at the family residence at three o’clock Sunday afternoon, and were conducted by Rev. A. L. Cline of the Methodist church. The interment was in the Mountain Home Cemetery.

The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community.
