Gerald Stewart Edwards, Sr., 74, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018. He was born September 27, 1943 in Wake County to the late Raymond Alfred Edwards and Bethina Carter Edwards. Gerald had 19 years of service with IBM and worked 20 years in various positions with the NC Department of Transportation and retired in 2009. He was Past Master of the Cary Masonic Lodge #198 and Fuquay Masonic Lodge #258. He served as a Mason in several local Masonic Lodges in the area and was a 32nd Degree Mason.

Funeral service 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Genesis United Methodist Church, 850 High House Rd, Cary, 27513. Burial will follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the church.

Surviving: daughter, Charlotte E. Hicks (Eddie) of Wilson; son, G. Stewart Edwards, Jr. (Michelle) of Apex; grandchildren: Lea Ann Edwards, Cameron Hicks; niece, Laurie E. Seaver (Aaron).

In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by brother, John Edwards
