Kenneth R. "Kenny" Beach Sr., 82, of Llewellyn, passed away suddenly Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.

Kenny was born in Silverton, Jan. 11, 1936, a son of the late John and Alice Arlene Berndt Beach.

He was the widower of Pauline Trosky Beach, who died Oct. 28, 1999.

He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church.

He was a former construction worker and for the past 30+ years was the machine operator for grave openings for numerous cemeteries servicing the Minersville area.

Kenny was a true lover of the great outdoors and very much the avid fisherman. He was a fan of and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates and the Philadelphia Flyers. He was first and foremost a family man who had a great love for the Lord. Through times of great adversity his faith was steadfast and never wavered.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Pauline, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Marlin, Russ, Carl, Lewis and John, as well as two sisters, Elizabeth Bretz and Alice Pritz.

Kenny is survived by two daughters, Debra, wife of David Skripko, and Cheryl; three sons, Kenneth R. Jr., husband of Laura, Kevin R. and Joseph T. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Jonathan, Julie, Justin, Megan, Mikayla, Bobby, Gary, Matthew, Kevin, Alicia, Nolan and Griffin; nine great-grandchildren.

A religious funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc. Minersville, with Pastor Brian Biesell officiating. All are respectfully invited to attend a visitation with calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home as well as Tuesday morning until the time of service. Interment will be in Friedens Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friedens Lutheran Church. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, is entrusted with the arrangements.
