Delores married Aaron Eugene “Gene” Helgren Jr. December 20, 1944, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Wakefield and they enjoyed sixty-seven years together. The couple farmed southeast of Wayne for over sixty years, before moving into Wayne in 1991.
Delores was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Delores is survived by her sons, Don Helgren of Laurel, Rick (Cheryl) Helgren of Lincoln, and Randy Helgren of Neligh; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene in 2012; daughters-in-law, Betty Helgren in 2002, and Ava Helgren in 2007; a brother, Ardale Test; two sisters, and brothers-in-law, Leona (Willard Hammer) and Marian (Elwin Nelsen and Harvey Brasch).
She passed away Thursday at Careage Campus of Care.
