Allen L. Baim was born April 16, 1928, in Walla Walla, to Ralph F. Baim and Velma Hurst Baim. He attended Lost Springs Grade School in Columbia County, WA, then the family moved to Clarkston, WA and in 1945 to Waitsburg, where he graduated from High School. From 1946 to 1949 he served in Japan with the 441st Counter Intelligence Corps Detachment. In 1951 he joined the Walla Walla District of the US Army Corps of Engineers. While working there he attended Whitman College and graduated with a BA in Economics in 1958. He was married to Thelma J. Hill on November 2, 1952. They had two children, Michael A. Baim and Keri Jo Baim. He was very proud of the fact that both obtained doctorates in their professional fields. He worked primarily in the Real Estate Division of the Walla Walla District and retired in December 1984 as Chief of the Real Estate Division. For many years he was active in the Walla Walla Elks Club, and at Pioneer United Methodist Church.

Allen was preceded in death by his wife Thelma (1931-2015), his parents, his sister, Betty Baim Webber, and his half-sister, Pauline Baim Stanton. He is survived by his children, his brother, Robert (Clara) Baim; his cousin, Vance (Judy) Price, and several other cousins; nieces, and nephews. At his request, there will be no service.
