Pearl Harrison, the remaining child of early settlers, George Dyer and Ollie Ida (Lucas) Howard, died Thursday, August 2, 2018, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Born on October 13, 1919, Pearl spent her childhood with six siblings around Davis in Murray county. On July 1, 1937, she married Roy (Cuter) Harrison and they spent 72 years together before his death on Jan 13, 2009. Also preceding her in death were her grandparents, parents and sisters, Malissa Harrison, Gladys Harrison, “Molly” Pyka along with brothers, Tom and “Buck” Howard and their spouses, all buried in Green Hill or Dougherty cemeteries. Sarah Geurin is buried in Edmond. Pearl & Roy’s son, Roy J Harrison, died in 2003. She was a member of the Davis First Baptist Church with many friends.

Roy was a rancher beginning cattle work on the old Harper-Turner Ranch at Scullin. In 1941 Pearl and Roy Harrison left southern Oklahoma to spent 43 years on the Harper Ranch, northeast of Edmond, Oklahoma prior to retiring in Davis in 1984. Pearl was a homemaker, beloved for her family dinners and apple pies. She helped raise quail and loved cooking them “because you don’t have to pick the buckshot out!” When not working around the house or visiting family and friends, Pearl had a book in her hand, keeping the local Davis library busy.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Jane and husband Lyle Hamilton of Ardmore, daughter-in-law, Jeannie (White) Harrison, now of Panama City, Florida; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous local nieces and nephews in Oklahoma and beyond.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visiting and remembering on Wednesday, August 8 from 5-7pm at the Hale’s Funeral Home in Davis. Graveside services will be Thursday, Aug 9 at 1:00pm in Oklahoma City at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, 500 SW 104th street.
