She was a graduate of Western Kentucky Teachers' College, a member of the Homemakers Club and a charter member of the Gamaliel United Methodist Church.
Born in Monroe County on Feb. 23, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Howard, Sr. and Mabel (Franklin) Hayes and the wife of the late Ray Holland.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Conder, Leitchfield; a son, Dr. Franklin Hayes Holland, Cantonment, Fla.; two grandsons, Stephen Ray Holland, Cantonment, and James S. Conder, Leitchfield; three granddaughters — Mary Lynn McDonald, Cantonment; Martha Jean Holland, Pensacola, Fla.; and Vanessa Ledridge, Lexington; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 29, at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel, with Michael Rice officiating. Burial was at the Gamaliel Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were: Roger Ledridge, James Condor, and Michael, Joel, Steve and Neil McDonald.
