Richard Talley Brim, Jr. of Sasser passed away at Willson Hospice House on August 4, 2018. A memorial service will be held at the Dawson United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018. The family will receive friends at the Brim residence in Sasser on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Talley was born August 29, 1941 to Richard Talley Brim, Sr. and Frances Elizabeth Petty Brim. He was raised in Sasser, Georgia and graduated from Terrell High School. He attended Marion Military Institute and graduated from the University of Georgia with degrees in Agriculture and Chemistry. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. Talley served as an officer in the Navy from 1963-1967 having completed two tours in Vietnam. Talley, a sixth generation farmer, returned home to Sasser to farm until his retirement in 2004. He served on the Board of Directors at the Bank of Terrell for twenty-six years.
Talley is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Ann Hyatt Brim; daughter, Kelley Brim Hollowell; son, Richard Talley Brim III and his wife, Ashley Renee Brim; and three grandchildren, Ava Elizabeth Hollowell, Bella Frances Brim and Berkley Renee Brim.
