Robert Sr. of Union Street in Columbia, died unexpectedly Friday morning at the York Hospital. He was the husband of Anna Mae Keller Baker. Born in Perry County, he was a son of the late Theodore and Sarah Liddick Baker. He was employed as a fryer for the Bon Ton Food Co., York. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he was also an elder. He was a member of the AmVets Post 153, Catholic War Veterans Post, Columbia.

He was a World War II Army veteran having served in the Normandy and northern France campaigns. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Robert A. Jr., Barry L., both of Selinsgrove and Edward T., Lancaster; one granddaughter, two brothers, Charles E. Harrisburg and Norma L., R3 Columbia; two sisters, Pearl, wife of George McLain, Harrisburg and Mildred Stambaugh, Mechanicsburg.
