"George B. Bennett, 42, died on January 31 [1911]. He worked in the mines in the Clear Creek district where he contracted miner's consumption. He had moved to Arvada three years before his death. Survivors included his wife, Margaret Jane (Lewis), and four children; a sister, Mrs Eliza Evans; and three brothers, Charles, William J. and John."

In the 1880 Federal census, James Bennett (age 36), wife Elisabeth (age 32) and children George (age 11), Johnnie (age 8), Charlie (age 5) and Eliza (age 3) were living in Silver Plume, Clear Creek County, Colorado. James was a miner.

James, Elizabeth and George were born in England. Johnnie and Charlie were born in Pennsylvania; Eliza was born in Colorado.
