Mr. Hammersley was born in Oklahoma on March 1st, 1929. He retired from Fred Jones Manufacturing after almost thirty years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, and gardening. He will be remembered for his exceptional ability to repair anything that needed it, and the great satisfaction he gained from doing so.
Survivors include his wife of fifty three years, Augustine Hammersley, of Forsyth, sons and daughter in laws, Kip Hammersley (Alisha), Clay Ham (Lee), Chris Ham (Connie), all of Forsyth; grandchildren Kerri Swearingen (Mike), Chrissy Donovan (JP), Kurt Ham (Byerly), Madison Hammersley, Joseph Stephens (Brittney), Josh Stephens (Amber), all of Forsyth, and Holly Price (Evan) of Barnesville, great grandchildren Hannah Swearingen, Avery and Jaxon Donovan, Tyler, Lizzie, and Elaine Stephens, all of Forsyth. Mr. Hammersley is also survived by a brother, Roy Hammersley, of Oklahoma, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 40 Rumble Road, Forsyth.
