Richard J. Avery, 62, of Kokomo passed away at 3:34 am Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Community Howard Regional Health. He was born September 29, 1955, in Kokomo to Larry and Martha (Rubush) Avery. On December 9, 1996, Richard married Tammy Howard, and she survives.
Richard had worked for Millbanks for several years. He loved fishing and watching sports.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Avery; son, Richard J. Avery Jr.; grandchildren, Alisha, Martha, and Briley Avery; step-daughter, Heather (Jeremy) Hancock; step-son, Joshua (Alicia) Baker; step-grandchildren, Jakob, Josiah, and Joselynn Baker, Jeriamiah, Chylynn, and Owen Hancock; and brothers, Chris, Mark, and Brian Avery.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Martha Avery; sister, Jayne Avery; sister in-law, Julie Avery; and step-son, Dustin Larimore.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday August 2, 2018, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Jeff Moon officiating.
