Richard had worked for Millbanks for several years. He loved fishing and watching sports.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Avery; son, Richard J. Avery Jr.; grandchildren, Alisha, Martha, and Briley Avery; step-daughter, Heather (Jeremy) Hancock; step-son, Joshua (Alicia) Baker; step-grandchildren, Jakob, Josiah, and Joselynn Baker, Jeriamiah, Chylynn, and Owen Hancock; and brothers, Chris, Mark, and Brian Avery.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Martha Avery; sister, Jayne Avery; sister in-law, Julie Avery; and step-son, Dustin Larimore.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday August 2, 2018, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Jeff Moon officiating.
