Source: Published in www.morningjournal.com on July 16, 2017Judith E. Ackerman (nee Eibling), 81, a 49 year resident of Avon Lake, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at Independence Village, Avon Lake.
She was born July 29, 1935 to parents Harold and Evelyn (nee Agner) Eibling.
Judith graduated from Miami University, with a degree in Elementary Education. At Miami she was a member of the Tri Sigma Sorority and had remained lifelong friends with some of her sorority sisters. Judith began her career in the Columbus Public Schools as an elementary teacher and taught for a few years until she and her husband began their family. After the children were old enough, Judith returned to the classroom teaching second and third grades at Tennyson and Knollwood Schools in the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake School System. She retired in 2000. In her free time, Judith enjoyed knitting , traveling, reading and spending time with family. She loved animals and doted on her dog Harvey, who brought her so much joy. She enjoyed playing bridge with some of her closest friends, her longtime bridge club. She and her husband traveled the United States in their recreational vehicle. Anyone that knew her was familiar with her sense of humor, which she never lost.
Judith is survived by children, (LIVING FAMILY MEMBERS REMOVED).
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert C., daughter Lisa Anne Cox (Ronald) and her parents, Harold and Evelyn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Love-a-Stray, P.O. Box 125, Avon Lake, OH 44012, or Crossroads Hospice, 8224 Mentor Ave. Suite 110, Mentor, OH 44060. Friends may call at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake , on Friday, August 4 from 1:00-2:30pm.
