Al was a member of St. Mary's Catholic of Piscataway, Knights of Columbus, Dr. Mudd Museum Society, Friendly Maryland Travelers Club (Good Sam Club), and the Accokeek.
He most enjoyed spending time with family and friends and also camping, gardening and woodworking.
Born September 14, 1935, in Brandywine, Maryland. He was the son of Bernard and Alice Mudd.
Survivors include: Wife of 56 years, Lillian (Mills) Mudd, children Deborah Mudd, Joan Mudd, Donna Albanezi, William A.Mudd, Jr., Karen Ayers, Lisa Okes, Kimberly Wright, Patrick Mudd and Melissa Rosensteel.
Three brothers, 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered At St. Mary's Catholic Church, 13401 Piscataway Road, Clinton, Maryland 20735 on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 10:00 am. Officiating Clergy: Father Baer.
