Enoch was a son of William Henry Brandenburg and his first wife, Catherine Beyer. Enoch was married twice. He first married Jane Miller, they had ten children; seven sons and three daughters. All seven sons served in the Civil War. Frank was the only son to survive the War. After Jane's death in 1848, Enoch married Elizabeth Nelson. Enoch and Elizabeth were blessed with four daughters. Enoch was a farmer.
