Funeral services for Charles Gilbert Cary, Sr., 79 who died Sunday in a Sioux City hospital were held Thursday afternoon at the Pilger Baptist Church. The Rev. Bradford Crane of Norfolk officiated.

Hymns were sung by Henry Shulz of Stanton, accompanied by Mrs. Roderick Christensen.
Burial was in Pilger cemetery and pallbearers were William Coley, Chris Christensen, Lawrence Lovett, Sidney Hawkins, Daly Carson and Charles Crusenberry.

Charles Gilbert Cary, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cary, was born March 24, 1878, at Aurora, and died Oct. 27 at Sioux City at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 3 days. He had been in the hospital a month.
His family moved to Stanton County when he was 9, and he had lived in this county since. He was a charter member of the Pilger Baptist Church and was always active in its work.

Mr. Cary was married to Miss Nettie Terry of Omaha in 1899 and they had 12 children.

Mr. Cary is survived by his wife: five daughters, Mrs. Irvine Nelson and Mrs. Otto Koehler of Norfolk, Mrs. Merrill Paul of Springville, Utah, Mrs. Emil Leeds of Monrovia, Calif., and Mrs. Anthony Braun of Altadena, Calif.; six sons, Robert of Pilger, Charles Jr. and Chester, twins, of Norfolk, Willie of Winside, Harry of Fullerton and Wallace of Omaha; 22 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Miss Pearl Cary of St. Edward and five brothers, Ora, Roy and Walter Cary of Norfolk, Willard Cary of Wisner and Cash Cary of Stockton, Calif. His infant son, one sister and five brothers preceded him in death
