Archie Benfield, 87, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016.  Beloved husband of Vivian (Kostka) for over 65 years. Originally from Lenior, NC, Archie joined the Navy and was stationed at Great Lakes Naval base, and made Chicago his home.  Archie was a talented sign painter, artist, while also an accomplished actor and set designer and an Active Laureate at the Theatre of Western Springs.  Archie was an active at TWS since 1962.  His first stage performance was "On Borrowed Time" and his swan song was "Swan Song" in a TWS 85th Season Directors' Workshop. 
 
Archie's Active Laureate quotation in 2014 was "For all the good times, good friends and wonderful experiences, I thank TWS with all my heart.”
