He was born in Oshkosh on December 26, 1917 son of Andrew and Isabella Anderson. On October 6, 1956 he married Noryne Abraham in Oshkosh.
Chester was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served as a cartographer in Southeast Asia during World War II. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and the men's choir.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Noryne Anderson of Oshkosh; brother, Leonard (Violet) Anderson of Great Falls, WI; nieces and nephews; and adopted niece and nephew, Cathy and Dennis Puhl. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Irving, Oliver, and Edmund; and six sisters, Selma, Myrtle, Florence, Winifred, Laura, and Aleda.
His funeral will be on Wednesday May 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with Rev. Thomas Koenig officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials will be gladly accepted for the Fields of Honor Veterans' Museum or to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church.
