A funeral Mass for Mary Helen Bessert, 94, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at St. Petronille Catholic Church, Glen Ellyn. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at the Leonard Memorial Home, Ltd., 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn. She died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008. Mrs. Bessert had been employed for many years with Marshall Field's as personnel manager at both the State St. store in Chicago and the Oak Park location, until her retirement. Mary was a longtime parishioner of St. Petronille Catholic Church in Glen Ellyn and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She is survived by her sons, John (Phyllis) and Frederick Bessert; and grandson, Nathan. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Bessert; sister, Catharine; and brothers, George and John.
