The Gazette (Colorado Springs, CO) April 5, 2007 > James Warren Alsup, 83, of Monument, Colorado, passed away at Memorial Hospital, Colorado Springs on April 2, 2007. He was born December 31, 1923 in Pemiscot County, Missouri to Levi Jackson and Edna Louisa (Beaury) Alsup. On August 22, 1948, he was united in marriage to Reba Rae Morgan in Randolph County, Arkansas. He retired as a Baptist minister, and after 31 years of service, retired from the Pace Bus Company in Des Plaines, Illinois. He is survived by Reba Alsup, his wife of 58 years of marriage; five children, Michael Alsup, of Phoenix, Arizona, Phil Alsup, of Larkspur, Colorado, John Alsup, of Castle Rock, Colorado, Ruth Alsup, of Monument, Colorado, and Joseph Alsup, of Larkspur, Colorado; 11 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Alsup of Lake Station, Indiana, and Richard Alsup of Lancaster, California; and sisters, Margaret Vickery of Orlando, Florida and Eva Bowling of Blytheville, Arkansas; He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Stephen Alsup; brothers, Wilbur Alsup and Ernest Alsup and sisters Norma Poplin, Luella Colbenson and Edith Alsup. Memorial services to be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday April 5, 2007 at Monument Hill Baptist Church, 18725 Monument Hill Road, Monument, Colorado, Rev. Brad Cowger officiating. Funeral service will be April 10, 2007 in the Chapel at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 E. Euclid Ave. Arlington Heights, Illinois, with Rev. Gary D. Houdek officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
