On June 13, 1923, Ralph married Miss. Irene Gertrude Moore, daughter of Kerr County Pioneers Gabe Rodgers Moore and Annie McGaughey Moore. In the early years, Ralph and Irene journeyed to Bandera each weekend, where Ralph would operate the projection and Irene played the piano to accompany the movie at the local theater. In 1924 daughter Mary Kathryn was born and much to their surprise and joy fourteen years later, Gabrielle (in honor of her Grandfather) Ann was born. Mary and Ann honored their parents on their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebration enjoyed by family and many friends from across Texas. Mr. and Mrs. White shared fifty-six years together.
Ralph was an avid fisherman, enjoying trips to Mexico, especially with his brothers Estrel and Ulrich. Some of the fondest memories of the older grandsons are of the sometimes scary, always fun fishing expeditions to Mexico. A craftsman, he built the family residence in Center Point and was a self-employed builder. A believer in civic duty, he served many years as an Election Judge and was a founding member of the Center Point Lions Club. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Center Point and a true friend to all.
Mr. White passed away on June 8, 1979, at the Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg, Texas. He was survived by his widow and daughters, their husbands; Elmer Lee Jennings and James H Griffin, and grandchildren, Michael L, Patrick L, Nancy Jennings, and families; Terence J, Susan M., and Daniel R Griffin; sister, Mrs. Ruth Zinsmeyer; brother, Ulrich White, and several nieces and nephews.
