Brian Keith Cox, 32, of Rustburg, passed away Thursday March 25, 2004. Born November 18, 1971, in Lynchburg, he is survived by his father, Joseph W. Cox, Jr. of Lynchburg, his mother, Patricia Cox of Rustburg and step father Dennis Emerson of Altavista. Brian was a 1989 graduate of Rustburg High School and was employed by Consumer Dorin Adams, where he worked as a sheet metal mechanic for 10 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Ernest G. Mattox and Mildred K. Mattox and his paternal grandfather, Joseph W. Cox, Sr. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Amber Dawn Cox and Dakota Keith Cox both of Rustburg; sister, Angel L. Cox of Evington; brother, Billy W. Cox and wife Julie of Rustburg; two half brothers, Tracy Emerson and fiancé Laura Clark of Rustburg and Troy Emerson of Altavista; paternal grandmother, Inez Cox of Lynchburg, nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral service was conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2004 from Whitten Timberlake Chapel, with the Reverand Gunter officiating. Interment was in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
