Son charged with 1st-degree murder in stabbing death of LaGrange couple
By Frank Finegold

LaGrange-A LaGrange man was charged with two counts of first degree murder Saturday in connection with the stabbing death of his parents earlier that morning. The accused, Jame Abramoska, 31, of 208 West Main St., LaGrange, is to be arraigned this afternoon in Elyria Municipal Court. The victims were Harry Abramoska, 64, and Hilda Abramoska, also 64, of the same LaGrange address. Authorities are sifting facts today in an attempt to determine a motive for the double slaying. Information supplied sheriff's deputies suggests friction within the family may have led to the stabbing deaths. LaGrange police were notified of the stabbing by Martha Huddleston, a friend of James, reports said. Miss Huddleston, of South Center Street, told Sheriff's department detectives Henry Zieba and Charles Bulger that James came to her home shortly after the slaying which occurred at about 3 a.m. While sitting on the edge of her bed, he said he had something to tell her.
She Told Detectives that at first she thought she was dreaming. Miss Huddleston said she and Abramoska went downstairs and he told her of the slaying and asked her to run away with him, Zieba said. As soon as Abramoska left she called Chief John Miller of the LaGrange police and told him to check on the family, Zieba said. Chief Miller went to the Abramoska home and was unable to get an answer to his knock on the door. He then went to Miss Huddleston's home and told her he was unable to het an answer at the Abramoska home. Zieba said. She told Chief Miller that she had called the Abramoska home and there was no answer. Chief Miller returned the Abramoska home where James responded to his rapping, reports said.
Chief Miller asked Abramoska where his parents were. He replied "I killed them, wait until I get my coat," reports said. Miller asked Abramoska what happened and he replied, "They went crazy," reports said. Sheriff's deputies found the bodies of the two victims on the floor of the home. Mrs. Abramoska was lying next to the bed. Her husband was found in the living room, reports said. Detectives believe there was a struggle because Abramoska's body was found behind a couch on which he had been sleeping. He had been stabbed once in the chest, reports said. Mrs. Abramoska was on the bed when she was first stabbed, officials said. She then fell to the floor, authorities reported. Detectives said the bed was soaked with blood. She was stabbed four times in the chest. Detectives believe Abramoska was stabbed first but are not sure why the noise did not disturb Mr. Abramoska, they said. Abramoska was taken back to his home Saturday morning by detectives where he was questioned.
