CPO, Clifford Errett Wilson, Sr, US Navy retired, 86, of Moncks Corner, SC, died Thursday evening in a Charleston hospital.

His funeral service will be 11:30 AM, Monday morning, July 30, 2018, in the Crowfield Baptist Church, 100 Hunters Lane, Goose Creek, SC 29445. Entombment, directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, will be in Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner, with military honors. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service on Monday morning. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Crowfield Baptist Church, Building Fund, 100 Hunters Lane, Goose Creek, SC 29445.

CPO Wilson was born December 25, 1931, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son of Lawrence E. Wilson and Martha Hughes Wilson. He was a member of the Crowfield Baptist Church, the Berkeley Country Club, and the Palmetto Sunnybrook Travelers. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He enjoyed playing golf, camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He was a retired Electrical Maintenance Tech with DuPont and was preceeded in death by a sister, Jackie Forte.

Surviving are his wife, Alice Bentley Wilson of Moncks Corner; a daughter, Kimberly Cochran and her husband Ron of Moncks Corner; two sons, Gene Wilson and his wife Catherine of Mt. Pleasant and Clifford Wilson Jr. and his wife Brenda of North Charleston; two sisters, Doris Johnson and Betty Jane Britt both of Georgetown; a brother, Harold Gene Wilson of Salina, KS; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
