Mary Ann Huffman Houser, passed away on May 28, 2018, while a resident of the Spring Arbor Cottages in Richmond, Va. Mary Ann had just celebrated her 92nd birthday two weeks earlier. Even though her body was failing she always had a sense of humor. She loved to read books and watch Old Westerns until her health declined. Mary Ann was born in Pikeville, Ky., and graduated from Marshall University to become a teacher for many years. She taught at Pinchbeck Elementary and retired from Carver Elementary in the Henrico School District. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey A. Houser, MD; her son, Robert Richardson III; her brother, Donald Huffman; and her granddaughter, Megan O'Donnell. She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Richardson (Tim Winslow) of Charleston, S.C. and Deborah Parker (Dennis) of Henrico, Va.; two brothers, Charles Huffman Jr. of Pikeville and William Huffman of Lexington, Ky.; three grandchildren, Kathleen O'Donnell of Cambridge, Mass., Hunter Parker of West Hartford, Conn. and Spencer Parker of Atlanta, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Sofia Parker and Isabella Parker of Atlanta; and many nieces and nephews.
