Ethel Ella Nester, 93 of Hillsville, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, at Northern Hospital of Surry County, NC. She was born to Ellis & Hattie Alderman. She was the widow of Sexton R. Nester. Survivor include a daughter, Sue Vass of Mount Airy, NC; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Sunday at Crooked Oak Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Oscar Hill officiating. Burial followed in the Crooked Oak Cemetery. Flowers would be appreciated; however, donations may be made to the Crooked Oak Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Connie Nester, 431 Link Drive, Hillsville, VA 24343; or to the Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1326 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
