David Pellerino was the first born and only child from the marriage of Eugene L. Pellerino and Violet Juanita Mahan-Pellerino-Eads. The Pellerinos were separated and divorced shortly after the tragic accident involving their toddler son one early morning.
David spent over 60 years in Porterville State Hospital in a physically incapacitated state after suffering severe burns as a toddler. He never got to pursue dreams, build wealth, have a family, nor enjoy normal day to day activities as most understand. With all he didn't have, he was still blessed by having hospital staff who cared for him 24/7/365 who gave endlessly to insure all of his biological needs were met. David never had bedsores or anything directly related to lack of care. He fought an occasional round of pneumonia, bladder infections, seizures and other GI related issues that go with a feeding tube.
The immediate family is appreciative to the staff at Porterville State Hospital and at Delano Regional Medical Center as well as Sierra View Medical Center (Porterville) who did their best to make sure David was well cared for.
David leaves behind 4 maternal half brothers and sisters: Jim Eads (CA), Randy Eads (CA), Valerie Eads-Lee (CA), Lisa Eads-Blydenburgh (OR). The family is relieved that David has finally found peace from decades of medical procedures and treatment.
It is a sad tale but one with a long story in dedicated caring for a condition not repairable by modern science.
RIP David.
