Elizabeth Bennett Clark died before her husband Samuel Clark. In his will dated sixth day of September 1783, Samuel Clark states his wishes were as follows: "Being sick of body but of sound mind and memory blessed by God for his mercy Do make this my last will testament, and first of all I command my soul to God when he shall be pleased to call it and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor, hereinafter named in the Graveyard on my own plantation as near to the grave of my former wife as may be convenient".
