In memory of my Great-grandmother Laird.

Mrs. Ada Everett Laird was born March 14, 1875 and passed away July 21, 1946 at her home in Marston, MO, at the age of 72. Death was attributed to a heart attack. She had apparently been in good health, always active and was noticed working in the garden several hours prior to her death.

On January 24, 1894 she was united in marriage to Joseph Everett in New Madrid, MO. He died on October 9, 1897 leaving her with two small children.

On September 24, 1900, she married Joseph Thornton Laird in New Madrid, MO, and two more children were born.

The deceased is survived by two son, Clifford Laird of Matthews, MO, and Larry Everett of Houston, TX.; two sisters, Mrs. "Tip" Condor of East Prairie, MO., and Mrs. Laura Rogers of Memphis, TN.; 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Everett, and two sons, Joseph Everett and James Laird.

A loyal and devoted member of the Methodist Church of Marston and Order of the Eastern Star, New Madrid Chapter, she was loved and respected by all with whom she came in contact.

Funeral services were held at the Marston Methodist Church at 1 p.m Wednesday, July 24, 1946, with Rev. Massey in charge.

She was the daughter of James L. Sexton and Mary Ellen Beauregard Sexton.
