Verna Jeanne Louise Rust-Sampson (nee Biggs), age 81, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Verna is survived by two children: Janna (Alan) Getzin of Midland, MI and John (Pam) Rust of Crown Point, IN; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and step-brother: Dan (Cheryl) Demmon of Valparaiso, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Sampson; parents: Ralph and Henrietta Biggs; son: James R. Rust; daughters: Jerrilyn (late Wayne) Rust-Walters; Judith (late Bruce) Rust-MacFarland; brother: Ralph Biggs Jr.; and sister: Janice Addison. Verna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowell, IN and a 4-H leader. Verna and her husband, James D. Rust, ran Rust Nursery from 1956 to 1983. Verna also worked for St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point for 27 years. Verna was a devoted loving mother. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at GEISEN FUNERAL, CREMATION & RECEPTION CENTRE,606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 12 Noon with Pastor Cory Wielert officiating. Interment to follow at Orchard Grove Cemetery in Lowell, IN.
