Barbara A. Heaton Nov. 14, 1916 July 19, 2018 Barbara was born in Larned, KS 101 years ago to Roscoe Peterson and Agnes Ekblad Peterson. Her brother, Clarence Peterson and sister, Elinor Peterson pre-deceased her. She married Carl M. Heaton, also of Larned, in 1939 after attending Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS for two years. Barbara was a dedicated homemaker and mother of three: Ann (Larry) Bingham of Lake Quivira, KS; Don (Betty) Heaton of McKinney, TX; and Roger (Michelle) Heaton of Topeka, KS. She was proud of her 6 grandchildren, Bob Bingham, Laura (Scott) Widmier, Brian Heaton, Mary (Marc) Roux, Scott (Jen) Bingham, David (Cynthia) Heaton and 10 great-grandchildren. Barbara was a member of Chapter GD of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church where she served in the Altar Guild. The Nelson Art Gallery and St. Luke's Hospital gift shop also benefited from her volunteer time. She lived the last 20 years of her life at Lakeview Village, and enjoyed her many friends and volunteer work in their library. A celebration of life will be held at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 6630 Nall, Mission, KS on Tuesday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Michael and All Angels or Lakeview Village Foundation
