George "Danny" McCormick, 79, of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at his residence.
He was born in Zion, Ill., on Sept. 5, 1938, the son of the late Christopher and Mildred Howard McCormick. He was educated in the schools of Zion and was a 1956 graduate of Zion Benton High School. Danny worked for various Nuclear Power Companies as a technician, traveling all over the country, until his retirement.
On June 28, 1979, he married Fran Lawler in Waukegan, Ill.
Surviving Danny are his wife Fran, daughters, Kelly Moore of Johnsburg, Ill., Jennifer Ehlers of Wyoming, Pa., son Chad (Katie) McCormick of Washington D.C., six grandchildren; Lauren Moore, Matthew Ehlers, Hunter Peters, Connor, Luke and Keighley McCormick and sister, Josie Haile of San Antonio, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael McCormick, brothers, Benjamin and Duane, sisters, Mary, Kathy and Peggy.
A visitation will be held at the Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL on Wednesday July 18, from 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Interment will be private.
