Nathan Adams was on of the first citizens of Scott Co., Kentucky possibly moving there as early as 1794. (The B.O. Gaines History of Scott County) According to the book The Millstone Quarries of Powell County, Kentucky by Charles D. Hockensmith a Nathan Adams was living in Scott Co., Kentucky in 1800.

In August of 1801 Nathan had business with future statesman Henry Clay and signed a receipt.

Nathan died circa 1804 after writing his will on December 18, 1803. His will was witnessed by Revolutionary War veteran John Garth.
