Obituary for Susan Marie Kelly-Templin
Susan Marie Kelly-Templin passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Susan was born on March 25, 1947 to James and Wilma (Blythe) Kelly of Albia.

Susan graduated in 1965 from Albia High School. She went on to earn her teaching degree from Truman State University in 1969.

After graduating college she married William Templin on June 21, 1969 in Albia. They moved to the Iowa City area where they had three children.

Susan was a teacher at Clear Creek Amana middle school. She went on to work at the University of Iowa as a secretary until she retired in 2007.

Susan moved back to Albia to be closer to her family and friends. She was active with the Albia High School class of 1965, Albia Crazy Quilters Guild, Albia Women's Club, Monroe County Historical Society and numerous other clubs.

She was very passionate about her ancestry, and dedicated long hours to following her genealogy. She was a gifted quilter and enjoyed all of the time she spent with her quilting friends. She enjoyed traveling and the companionship of her beloved dogs.

Susan was proceeded in death by her parents, James and Wilma Kelly of Albia, her husband William Templin of North Liberty, and her sister Beth Kelly of Albia.

Susan is survived by her children, Kelly (Greg) Butcher of Coralville, Mary Beth (Joe) Hildendorf of Cedar Rapids, Kyle (Christanna) Newman and sons of Coralville. Her siblings Hugh (Sharon) Blythe and family of Orlando, FL, Tim (Laura) Kelly of Centerville, Pamela Kelly of Centerville, and Tom Kelly of Mo. Her nephews Chris Kelly of Newton, and Scott Kelly and his father Bob Heffron of Albia.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Monroe County Historic Society and the Albia Crazy Quilters Guild. Online condolences may be left for the family at sinnottfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are entrusted with Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia.
