Mrs. Frank Horton, wife of the late Hickory architect, died Sunday in a Hickory hospital
after a period of declining health. She had lived at 1252 Eleventh St. NW, Hickory.

The former Betty Taylor, she was born in Hernando, Miss. to William Henry Taylor and
Betty Davis Taylor. The husband died in November 1975. Mrs. Horton was a member of
the Hickory Women's Club, Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Dau-
ghters of the Confederacy. Prior to her illness she had been an active member of First
Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a son, F. Taylor Horton of Hickory; a sister, Mrs. Ben L. Enloe of Snyder,
NY; an aunt, Mrs. H.C. Newell of Memphis, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.

The Rev. David McKee will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Bass-
Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will be at the fun-
eral home from 7 until 8:30 tonight.

Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund or to the First Presbyterian Church.
