Patricia was born to French L. & Dorothy R. Brown. She attended Highland and Mammoth Park Elementary Schools and graduated from Omaha Central High School in June of 1978. Pat then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology.
Pat began her career as a lifelong advocate for children with special needs. She worked for the Alpha School, Omaha, NE. which is an alternative school for students with behavioral/emotional conditons who are unable to maintain traditional school placement. Over her 27 year career at the Alpha School, she had a range of responsibilities including Food Administrator, Intervention Specialist and Educational Program Spececialist for children with emotional and behavioral needs. After Alpha School Pat's career path took her into the foster care support service field with Visinet, Inc. and KVC Behavioral Health from 2003 to 2013.
Pat married Calvin Samuel on November 27-1992. The were blessed when they adopted twins and after their marriage ended, they remained co-parents to their boys while Pat continued her career in the foster care support services. After a long career of advocating for children, Pat retired in 2011.
