Watkins Glen/Town of Tyrone: Edward Jonathan Perry Sr., age 84, of the Town of Tyrone, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday January 3, 2024.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesday (Jan. 9) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday (Jan. 10) at the Altay Baptist Church, 4289 Six Corners Rd., Dundee with Floyd Wicker Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Tyrone Union Cemetery, Tyrone, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Altay Baptist Church, 4289 Six Corners Rd., Dundee, NY 14837.

Edward was born Jan. 14, 1939 in Penn Yan, NY, one of 6 sons of the late Raymond James and Mildred Elizabeth (Wood) Perry. He was the husband of the late Minnie (Barrett) Perry who passed away on Feb. 28, 2002. Ed worked for Ingersoll-Rand in Painted Post for 15 years in the 1950's-60's, before becoming a fulltime dairy farmer, having owned several farms in the Tyrone area.

Mr. Perry was a devoted member of the Altay Baptist Church; and active member of F.S.A. - Farm Service Agency out of Ithaca, NY, and a dedicated long time, multi term board member of the Town of Tyrone.

He is survived by 2 sons Ronald E. (Roxanne) Perry of Rock Stream, NY, Daniel R. (Pamela) Perry Sr. of Watkins Glen; a daughter Tammy A. (Norman) Eberly of Harrisburg, PA; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; his only surviving sibling, brother Lawrence (Cora) Perry of Tyrone; and countless nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, and wife, he was also pre-deceased by a son Edward J. Perry Jr. on Apr. 18, 2014; a dear friend and companion Alice Louise Ford on May 9, 2023, 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.
