Thomas (Benny) Taylor, Sr., 73 of Clear Creek, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018. Born March 17, 1945 in Clear Creek, he was the son of the late Benjamin Edgar and Ella Maude Lilly Taylor.
Benny was a retired coal miner and a member of the Workman Creek Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Lee Jester Taylor; daughter, Holly Crystal taylor of Clear Creek; sons, Chris Edgar Taylor and wife Kim of Clear Creek, Thomas, Benjamin Taylor, Jr and wife Tammy of Coal City; step children, Michelle Schwinger and Darrell Clayton Davenport and his wife Kathy of Delaware; grandchildren, Candice, Canaan, Erica, Whitney, Tommy, Hunter, Christopher, Cassie, Cameron, CJ, Cameron, Dylan, Shannon; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry and wife Sherry, David and wife Sandra, Mitchell, Ernie and wife Teresa; sisters, Faith Price and husband Herman, Betty McGinnis and husband Ronald, Katie McGinnis, Margaret Loveday, Nonearl Stover, Cledith Workman, Glida Williams and husband Jerry.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Workman Creek Methodist Church with pastors Sandra Taylor, Becky Maynor and Dwayne Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Family Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 12-2 pm Wednesday at the church.
