Francis Marion "Frank" Burkett married Mary Ellen Orr on 17 April 1855 at Louisville, Kentucky. Frank and Mary Ellen came to Graham from Louisville, Kentucky in 1875. They moved from Graham to Weatherford in 1884. Burkett - Ryus Drug store opened in Weatherford in 1884 and continued to do business with local doctors. They moved from Graham to Weatherford in 1890.
F.M. Burkett died at his home. He was an old citizen of Young County and was well known to all of the old settlers of this county and adjoining ones. He moved to Weatherford in 1899.
Survived by his wife; four children, three of whom still live in Graham - Frank Burkett, Mrs. W.P. Beckham, Mrs. R.G. Graham.
