Tribute of Respect
Whereas, It has pleased the Omniscient and ever merciful God to remove from our midst our friend and Sovereign, Eugene Martin;
And whereas a tree has fallen in our forest, thus leaving a vacant chair and bereaving the fellow-craftsmen;
Therefore be it resolved, First: That we the members of Fairfield Camp, of the W. O. W., offer our tenderest sympathy to the friends and loved ones of our deceased Sovereign.
Second, That we humbly bow to the inevitable, and will ever hold as sacred the memory of him who has left us, and each one of us seek to live in such a way as that when the loving Father calls for us, we may be counted as worthy Woodmen, ready to enter into our rest.
Resolved, that a copy be furnished the Fairfield Recorder, with a request to publish, and that a page of our minutes be set apart for said resolutions.
W. H. McIlveen,
Tilden L. Childs,
C. D. Chappell.
Committee.

We are sorry indeed to chronicle the death of Eugene Martin, living about 4 miles northwest of town, which occurred last Saturday, of black jaundice.
Deceased was a young man of exemplary habits, and leaves a young wife and two little children, besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn his loss.
The remains were interred in the Fairfield cemetery last Sunday afternoon, Laurel Camp, No. 691, W. O. W., of which he was a member, officiating.
