A Funeral Mass for Viola Gil Carrera, 92 of Oroville, will be held September 30, 2004, 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oroville. A burial service will be held in San Jose, Calif. on Friday, October 1, 2004 at the Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery at 11 a.m.Viola passed away on September 18, 2004 at Olive Ridge Care Center after a long illness.She was born on December 5, 1911 in King City, Calif. to Balbina and Leoncio Gil. Viola and her husband Davis ran Reinegger Wheel and Frame for 35 years in San Jose. Davis and Viola were married on August 9, 1930. Davis preceded Viola in death on December 6, 2003 after 73 years of marriage.Viola is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Chapin of Oroville, Claudia Dodrill and son-in-law James E. Dodrill of Sarasota, Fla.; and grandson, James Q. Dodrill, also of Florida; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association. Scheer Memorial Chapel is handling the arrangements.
